Wagner STEM Tutoring

Tutoring and mentoring for advanced STEM students

Why Wagner Tutoring?

After earning a B.S. in Physics from the College William & Mary and a Ph.D. in Biomedical Engineering from the University of Virginia, I realized that a lot of high school and college students don’t have much one-on-one interaction with experts in their field of study.

It’s hard to ask questions, not just about the coursework itself, but why the coursework even matters.

I like to think of myself as your STEM personal trainer 🏋️

I am a tutor and a mentor. Yes, I’m here to answer questions about your problem sets and practice exams. But I’m also here to help you understand what’s important, what’s superfluous, and what will move you forward in a STEM career.

How do I start working with you?

It depends on your needs

If you’d like help with coursework on a short-term, as-needed basis, jump right in: schedule a formal tutoring session. I offer 30 minute, 45 minute, and 60 minute sessions. Check out my Pricing page for more information on how to choose. You’ll be asked to provide as much information as possible about your questions. I strongly recommend uploading documents when you schedule (the problem set you’re working on, the exam study guide you’re struggling with, etc). The more I know in advance, the better I can answer your questions.

If you would like to work with me on a long-term basis, please start by scheduling a consultation. I love to work with students over multiple semesters, even multiple years! We will talk about your current needs and future goals and what you hope to get out of tutoring sessions. After our consultation, I will provide you with a proposal that describes how I plan to structure our sessions and help you achieve your goals. If you like what you read, please send me an email, and we can discuss tutoring packages and formally schedule some sessions.

The technology I use

Video conferencing: Google Meet

Shared documents: Google Drive and Miro

Live whiteboard: Miro

How do I get access to our session material?

You will have a link to the Miro whiteboard we use in the live session, and that link will remain “eternal.” I will also export pdf’s of our work and put these in a shared Google Drive folder.
